In 2001, we embarked on a difficult mission to transform education and develop a different model of an international school that does not make academic attainment its one-and-only central pillar and focus. Rather, we wanted the focus to be on character-building that leads to success in all the different dimensions of wellness, one of which being success at school and career! Knowing that the development of strong character and good personal habits determines how successful one will be in life, we designed our boarding schools to focus on personal development and student empowerment as prerequisites of continuous human development. Today, more than two decades and many generations of graduates, our Day and Boarding Scholae™ in Dubai, United Arab Emirates are considered by many to be the most advanced form of schooling in the world! A School System centered around Character Development
Since 2001, our Boarding Scholae™ has enabled boys and girls ages 10 to 17 years of all nationalities to come to Dubai to live in a safe, structured, and monitored educational environment. Living in a state-of-the-art student residence, students acquire essential learning and working habits that encourage the natural development of individual talent, self-organization, self-discipline, and time-management. At its core, our Boarding Scholae™ offers a proprietary educational lifestyle management school system summarized in training students to divide their day into four parts: The first part ensures that students get into the habit of dedicating part of their day to add value to their knowledge not only by completing school work but by also developing good reading habits; The second part of the day students dedicate to maintaining their nutritional and physical fitness; the third part they dedicate to assessing and elevating one of the remaining eight dimensions of their wellness. The fourth and final part of the day they dedicate to getting a good night’s sleep.
Our fully Accredited American Curriculum
Students joining our Dubai Boarding Scholae™ study the American curriculum from Grade 5 to 12 utilizing the iCademy Middle East platform which is fully licensed by the Dubai Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) and is internationally accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC). Working in small classes with our teachers on campus in small classroom groups, lessons run from 8.30am until 3.00pm Monday to Thursday, and from 9am to 12.00pm on Fridays. The rest of the day and evening are dedicated to sporting, cultural and recreational activities and trips as well as weekend excursions that promote character development and overall wellness that sets Scholae™ apart from other schools.
Other Curricula and Day Schools Option
We firmly believe that all schools are alike, and that the essence of our Scholae™ program lies in the skills taught outside class. In that spirit, and unlike traditional boarding schools, we allow parents that do not wish for their children to study our curriculum to still board with us and we will arrange for their children to be registered at any Dubai day school! Students that do boarding-only with us shuttle between their school of choice and our Scholae™ campus on a daily basis an still enjoy all of Scholae™’s afterschool academic support, sporting and in-house activities, as well as evening and weekend trips and excursions. In this case, we adjust our fees so that we can add the tuition fees of the day school chosen by the parents and the school transportation charges.
Campus Facilities and Safeguarding
Our Boarding ScholaeTM is based at a vast student residence village in Dubai Academic City that meets the highest standards of safety and security, and that is made up of approximately 2,000 single and double rooms (two separate beds). Every room comes with its own bathroom, shower, and fridge. Our students do their own housekeeping, learning to keep their rooms clean and tidy. Students also have access to in-house laundromats where they learn to do their own washing and ironing! While boarding students are provided with three meals daily served in fully equipped restaurants that are on campus too, our boarders have access to kitchen lounges that are part of their dormitories where they learn to cook with their teachers and house parents. The remainder of the vast campus includes game rooms, social suites, and a sophisticated sports and fitness center that students use for their sporting, cultural and recreational activities. Students are supervised by life coaches referred to as Third Parents™. The use of this term is not casual; rather these specialist mentors become akin to ‘Third Parents’ to their students, catering to their day-to-day needs, following-up on their academic and social progress. Our Dubai Scholae™ was among the first institution in the UAE and the region to design Safeguarding and Child Protection standards that we have since passed on to other schools across Dubai, the UAE and the region.
UAE Visas and School Certificate Attestations
To study our curriculum or at any other Dubai day-school, students are required to obtain a UAE Residence Permit and Emirates ID to ensure that their school certificates are recognized and attested by the local education authority in Dubai, namely, the Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA). We assist families who wish to register their children with us to obtain UAE residence permits for themselves and their children through a third-party provider at additional cost.
Additional football option
Scholae™’ delivers a unique middle and high school program that is both self-paced and tailored to the student’s individual needs. This allows us to build every student’s schooling program around their individual talent and aspirations. Uniquely, we are able to integrate our middle and high school program that include English, Math, Sciences, Business, Economics, Technology, World Languages, History and Geography with professional development programs in sports, music, and business that allows youngsters to really develop their professional talents at an early age without having to sacrifice their traditional schooling. Our first such specialist program delivers professional football option to interested students.

This deposit is deductible towards the weekly issued to the student.
Admission Procedure & Requirements
Requirements:
-- A completed application form
-- A copy of student's passport, including UAE residence visa (if issued). If the student is not yet a resident, the passport copy must be the one that will be used in order to obtain the UAE residence visa.
-- A copy of the student's birth certificate
-- Two years of previous school records (if available)
-- An original transfer certificate issued by current school
-- The student’s most recent original report card
Important note: If the student is attending a school in any country other than the United Arab Emirates, United States, Australia, Canada, or Western Europe, the most recently issued original report card and transfer certificate must be attested by the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the UAE Embassy in that country.
